A female's ovaries and adrenal glands produce Testosterone, as well as Estrogen and Progesterone.  Testosterone deficiency in Women can lead to menstrual irregularities, muscle wasting, hot flashes, mood shifts, decreased bone mineral density and fatigue.  Testosterone is a critical hormone for Menopausal Women.  It is truly a "feel" good hormone.

DHEA - The "Mother of all Hormones" - In 1996 a study of 60-70 year old women - were given DHEA, not only did these women have help with osteoporosis and bone-building benefits, but they experienced increase in mood and overall well-being.  Women also demonstrated improvement in depression and anxiety.  DHEA boosts the immune system and helps fight stress to battle cancer.  Low DHEA levels contribute to obesity, diabetes, immune deficiencies, cancer, high blood pressure, and heart disease.  Restoring DHEA levels can help reverse all these problems and give us more energy.

Did you know the loss of Progesterone increases the risk a women will get cancer?   Women should worry about the loss of progesterone and not the replacement of this incredibly beneficial hormone.  Women should FEAR taking the synthetic progestin -  Medroxyprogesterone (Provera). This was the finding from the 2002 "Women's Health Initiative Study". The real harm is losing the hormones that provide so many beneficial effects.

The media has maligned hormone replacement.  The truth is that our hormones have a job that is very important and once that production is not there the Body does not work the way it did when we were a healthy 25 year old.  The key to Hormone Replacement is the replacement of hormones "exactly" like we produced.  Medical studies demonstrate the harm is only with "synthetic" hormones, not those that are "bio-identical".

Estrogen is an essential hormone that is a safe and effective treatment against the numerous complications of aging. Natural estrogen replacement is a genuine ally, bolstering bone health, preventing heart disease, and protecting against Alzheimer's disease.

Did you know that?
DHEA is important in preventing Diabetes, heart disease, and cancer.  High levels of DHEA are associated with increased longevity whereas low DHEA levels are predictive of early mortality.  DHEA has been shown to inhibit disease, preserve youth and maintain health.  There have been reported cases where administration of DHEA has reversed symtoms of Lupus or Osteoporosis.

Wednesday December 9, 2009
DHEA - The "Mother of all Hormones" - this hormone has the ability to convert into estrogen, testosterone, and progesterone. This hormone enhances the immune system and impacts the health of body, heart and mind. By the time we hit 80, we have lost about 80% of our DHEA production.

What HAPPENS when HORMONE replacement is dropped entirely? Women who have loss of estrogen have detrimental changes in the brain, eyes, teeth, bones, heart, blood vessels, cholesterol, skin, and vaginal lining.  All menopausal women who are not on estrogen replacement or who have stopped their hormonal therapy will face these losses.  And remember, estrogen is "NOT" the trigger for breast cancer.  It is the "Loss of Progesterone" which protects against Breast Cancer.
